This section of the Web Site is DEDICATED to all those swimmers (including their parents), who did not swim directly for Johnny, but were an important part of swimming during Johnny's Years at Riviera. THESE SWIMMERS WERE NOT ONLY HIS TEAM'S COMPETITION, BUT THEY WERE OUR FRIENDS! BELIEVE ME!!! JOHNNY KNEW EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE SWIMMERS AND WATCHED THEM LIKE A HAWK!!! HE KNEW THEIR NAMES, THEIR TIMES AND PAST PERFORMANCE RECORD. SWIMMERS & DIVERS FROM INDIANA, CALIFORNIA, OHIO, ILLINOIS, ETC.. I live in Boston and have been here since I graduated from I.U. Do the math...Scary!!!!! I met my husband here and he started out in Law, but now he is at a firm that buys shopping malls. I have two kids. Adam is 22 years old and lives in Boston and works at Fidelity. Lauren is a Junior at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. By the way, both of my kids went there so I got back to my mid-western roots through them. I taught high school Phys. Ed. for a long time, retired to raise kids and went back to teaching, but am teaching College Phys. Ed. at Wellesly College. I did coach swimming when I taught high school, but got to the point where I couldn't stand all those heats and hot pools. Time to let the younger eager ones take over. My expertise now is in Yoga, Pilates, and Strength Training. I Can't believe I got into yoga being an 'A' type personality, but I'm hoping that I will become what I preach..a focused, relaxed person!!! Ha Ha!! After 50, I think most of us become ADD, no estrogen, no memory, bad eyes and hearing impaired. It doesn't get any better than this. My swimming friends were my best friends and all my great memories come from those days. It would be so much fun if we could have a reunion. Please keep in touch.
