Judy Haver
Back in the Water!

Judy Haver, former Riviera National Jr. Backstroke Champion has returned to the water. In September, Judy joined her father Tom in the San Diego Seniors. Both Judy and Tom were Number 1 in their three backstroke events.

Former Riviera Diver Susan Rothert Myers named Long Distance
 All Star for her age group for both 2005 and 2006!
This year Susan won 3 events at Short Course Nationals in Federal Way, WA. and 3 in Houston in Long Course Nationals!

Back in the Water and Competing!!!

 


Jean participated in her first swim meet in 44 years. She placed first in all the events she swam ( 200 free, 200 back, 100 breast & 100 IM)  The meet was the Kentucky Senior Games. She is now training for the National Senior Games in Louisville next summer.

Father of Johnny's Riviera Swimmer Judy Haver participates in the Master's Nationals in Cleveland August 2002.

Tom placed as follows in the Master's Nationals in Cleveland 2002:

2nd Place: San Diego Swim Masters 200 M, 280 Medley Relay...Best they have ever done in any Nations with Tom starting the team off with the backstroke

4th Place: 200M Backstroke

5th Place: 100M Backstroke

6th Place: 50M Backstroke

To quote Tom, "In retrospect, my real accomplishment was being there and swimming against all 4 years younger than I.

  CONGRATULATIONS

Susan Rothert Myers

 JOHNNY'S FORMER DIVER...Susan Rothert Meyers won the 400 IM at the Cleveland Master's Nationals in August. Her FIRST USMS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. She also placed 2nd in the 200IM, 3rd in the 50 fly, 4th in the 50 free and 5th in the 200 back. She also competed on 3 relays-woman's free and medley and mixed free.

Tom is still active in U.S. Master's Swimming and found that his tri-weekly 1500 yd. workouts and 11 competition meets this year have moved him to Number 2 ranked in the U.S.A. and Number 5 in FINA World ranking in the 85 to 89 age group!

SWIMS HIS WAY TO "MULTIPLE MEDALS" IN THE

Southern Pacific Masters Competition December 3rd & 4th, 2005!!

TOM ACQUIRED...

Four relay first place medals,  3 backstroke firsts,  one freestyle first,  and 2 freestyle second places. Tom had good times in all events!!  Swam 3 -200's, 3- 100's , & 4 -50's----Boy was he busy!!

  Barb placed 1st in 50 Free, 50 Back, 50 Breast, and 100 Free for her age group!

UPDATE ON BARB
Both Barb and hubby Lowell participated in the YMCA Nationals May 2006.

Barb swam in 9 events and came home with 9 medals: 1-1st, 1-2nd, 1-3rd, 5-5ths, 1-6th.  The 1st place was in a mixed 200 medley relay.  The Indy Swim Fit/Jordan Y team placed 4th overall.
ILowell was asked to participate in a mixed 200 medley relay which took place promptly before his 50 free.  As it was, the relay took a 7th place, and Lowell cut 3.5 sec. off his time in Avon last month.

John's First Swim Meet in about 20 years, the Oregon Master's Short Course, April 2006, held at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon.

John admits he 'still got nervous before his swims!!

He placed 2nd in the 50yr. and 100yd. breastroker and 2nd in the 100yd I.M.

John's next meet is the 2006 State Games of oregon master's Long course Championships. GOOD LUCK JOHN!!! KEEP US POTED!!!
