I
went to I.U. for three yrs. and graduated from University of Arizona, married,
and moved to Long Beach, CA. in 1966. Children born in 1969 and 1972. I
taught elementary school for 12 years and was active in community volunteer
work. I divorced in 1979 and became national director of a teenage trauma
prevention project. During this time, I competed in Masters until I had to
have shoulder surgery (this was prior to arthroscopy?--very painful--did not
do any more competition). Went to 25 yr. high school reunion and decided to
move back to Indianapolis in 1987. Steve and I met while sharing a lane at
I.U. Natatorium (he was a marathoner and did triathlons) in April 1987. Steve
also has two children from his previous marriage, Jennifer and Andy (Yes, we
have two Jennifer's!) We married in Feb., 1988. I was still doing the
prevention program which Methodist Hospital (here) agreed to sponsor. I
resigned in 1998 and have been a real estate agent for the past five years.
Last year, I started Heritage Real Estate Group with two partners. We live in
the country just outside Zionsville. We love to garden and work on the land
and always seem to be doing projects on the house. Our family includes two
English Labs-a yellow named Bentley and a black named Maggie. We LOVE living
here and do not plan to move when retirement arrives. After a series of
illnesses, I am starting to exercise again, swimming one day and walking
on alternate days.
Steve's son is married, Andy and Elma
Furste. They met in the Philippines and have a son, Alex, who is 3 yrs. They
live here. His daughter, Jennifer Furste, is a vice president of Charles Schwab
in Scottsdale, AZ.
Becky's children: Jennifer and son Jeff

Gilbert. |
